The Player's Handbook Heroes Set 2 looks very nice and will make a great addition to any collection. I especially like the Genasi Paladin and Human Swordmage due to their versatility as a wide range of classes.

The new format for D&D miniatures has been released and the first set we have are Hero miniatures for use with PCs in your game. There are six packs with three heroes each, two male and one female. Each character comes with a card that is a new power for that class. Each pack retails for $10.99 and includes 2 martial hero packs, 2 arcane, 1 divine and 1 primal pack.
I have to admit I was a little disappointed in the new set of hero miniatures from Wizards of the Coast for several different reasons. First of all, I would guess that most players are only playing in one game and therefore only need one of the miniatures. That makes it a $10 miniature and you have two extra minis that you may never use. The next big selling point is the power cards. I really like the idea and for some people they are useful, but for anyone who subscribes to D&D Insider and has the Character Builder, all of these powers are in the program. So for me that isn't a selling point anymore.
Second, and I know I might take flak for this from some people, but 1/3 of the figures are female and I don't think this matches up close to D&D's demographic. I only have my personal experiences to draw from on this but I also saw a large number of D&D games last year at Gen Con and I would say that out of the 6 games and 36 PCs, only 3 were females players or males playing females. That's only 8% out of a small section, but even looking around at other tables, there weren't many female players, maybe 10-15% would be a generous estimate. So when a third of the minis are female, although nice to look at, aren't a selling point. I understand that WotC needs to be "PC" but maybe 1 female out of two packs would be a better idea. And I'm not just upset because the only dragonborn is female 
What I do like are the sculpts and paint jobs. They have really brought up the quality. So overall, I would only recommend buying them if you really want a certain character, or want the power cards, or are a completist Or you could be like me and just buy the individual minis you want online.
D&D Dangerous Delves Gallery

Wizards of the Coast have release all of the preview images of the entire Dangerous Delve monster miniatures and I have to say I am quite impressed so far. The sculpts and paint jobs seemed to be top notch although I'll have to see how the actual product stands up to the images. A favorite is the Bloodrager Troll, who has had weapons and metal grafted into his body ala Wolverine. It will be nice to have at least one of the miniatures visible in each pack and it seems the visible one is always pretty nice looking. These monsters are instantly playable in your game with the included stat card, no need to look up the stats in the monster manual.
So that concludes the D&D miniature previews until the new PHB Heroes set comes out in July and the new monsters set, Legendary Evils (huge creatures!), is released in August.
Demonweb Preview: Kruthik

The newest preview was released last week and man, I wish I had these little guys for my first session of the Scales of War campaign. They were a tough fight and their automatic aura damage was pretty rough for the PCs. So here they are for your viewing pleasure the Kruthik Adult and Kruthik Hive Lord.
Demonweb Preview and BIG NEWS for D&D Minis!!!

OK, let's just get into the big news first then we can look at the previewed minis. After the upcoming Demonweb set, the D&D minis will no longer be (completely) randomized and will come in two flavors; Hero packs and Monster packs. There will be six D&D Heroes packs with 3 visible figures each, 2 males and 1 female. Each figure will also come with a unique power card featuring a brand new class power.
The first D&D Monsters set called Monster Manual: Dangerous Delves will release as a 40 figure set. Each package will contain 5 figures, 1 visible, 1 rare, 1 uncommon, and 2 common.
Now here's the downside, in my opinion, the price is a little high ($10.99 for Heroes and $14.99 for Monsters) and the stores will have too many options to stock. So instead of having 1 SKU for a random D&D pack, you will have 6 SKUs for each hero pack and then another SKU for each monster pack depending on which mini is visible. This seems like a downside for game stores, at least, which in turn is bad for the players because they won't have access to all the packs. So what is the most logical solution, shop online, and that only means less business for the actual stores.

Oh yeah, the two new previews are for a pair of Ogres. The Ogre Pulverizer and the Brutal Ogre Warhulk. I really like these two guys, they look both mean and dumb, which can be a bad combination.

Wizards of the Coast has quickly released the next preview of minis in the upcoming Demonweb set of miniatures. The Iron Dragon Prowler and Deathcap, which is a mushroom.... are you serious? A Mushroom?!?
D&D Mini Preview: Demonweb

Wizards release the first preview of their upcoming Demonweb set of minatures. First, is a Spiderbound Drow Warrior, that has a spider on his shield that crawls off and attacks nearby foes.

Next we have the Shadow Flayer, that is equiped with a spear and shadow cloak that can turn him invisible, so he can sneak up on you and suck your brain out. There are several mindflayers in this set, which I am excited for since I don't have any yet.

The last preview is of a big fat demon called Solamith. This nasty demon takes huge chucks of its own flesh and hurls it at you. The souls that are trapped in his flesh cause them to explode into a ball of fire on impact. I really like the concept of this creature, but the model is a little bland to me.

Wizards releases D&D Miniatures Adventure

Wizards of the Coast released a cool little adventure for D&D minis that can be played solo or 2 players. I looked it over and it seems pretty cool. I really like the idea of involving a short story with your D&D mini battles.
It can be played with any minis you have and comes with the cards for you to print out, in case you don't have the exact ones needed.
I will have to give it a play through, but I like the concept and look forward to more adventures published this way. Download it here.
New WoW Minis Demo Released

I have been waiting for this game, as I love all thing Warcraft, so if you want to get a heads up on the action and learn how everything works and plays, then head over to the Upperdeck website and download the printable "demo" of the new game to be released later this year.
