Anyone else want to get in on this at the ground level?  We have just started posting and there are many characters to choose from.  And if you don't like any of the options, you can make your own!  If you have any desire to join in, just let me or NiknakSS know.  Wo0t!

I've been reading what you guys have been doing and it is pretty amazing. I'm just watching now, while I try to figure out how it works exactly.

There’s a feat for that…

Don't worry about trying to figure it out. WE are still trying to figure out how it works. Not exactly certain how the GMing works, and who is writing for which character. Join in and learn as we go!

Yeah, Niknak hit it on the head, the reason I am confused is how exactly it is played, as it seems like a cooperative short story. But I would like to try. Perhaps I will use my alien hero Blynk.

Okay, here goes as far as anyone else looking to get in on the play-by-post…

Bucky is going to concentrate on Managerie, mostly, as well as Prometheus, Furystar, and Bloodhound/Carlos Chiadez. Those are the characters that he has well developed personalities and character arcs for.

I will write for every other character, unless someone delcares dibs on em. Feel free to claim one if you find them interesting, or make up your own.

Fozz is right about it being a cooperative story. But it is developing into more than just that now that we are several posts in.

Allow me to try to break it down. I am the acting GM, working on the overall plot and main story arcs. The players are allowed to micro-GM their own characters, adding their own subplots and arcs at will, even if they are completely unrelated to the main story. I can either weave those arcs into my main plot, or just allow them to run parallel for as long as the player wishes to run them.

All that is required is a detailed history of the player, so that everyone else can understand their motivations and interact with them in the way that the creator envisioned.

An easy way to start up a new character is to have them stop in to Cappie's Bar and Grille. Anyone is allowed to write as Cappie, as he is a nuetral NPC, so long as they don't interfere with what another player has already established. Have fun with Cappie, he is an interesting bloke. Just read his character page, and how he was written in the posts that came before, so we can keep some continuity and maintain his personality.

Another easy way to introduce a hero would be to simply say they have history with one of the characters you have seen posted before, and simply write them in that way.

Don't worry at all about messing up in any way, this is an organically evolving story, and anything written can be woven in or simply allowed to run its own course.

You can also play a villain, we are not limited to heroes. You can choose to write for multiple characters at once, but it would be easier if everyone kept it to two or three. As Bucky discovered, trying to write for 7 characters at once gets a little complicated.

As the GM, I am quite liberal as to what I let fly. I'm not going to tell you that you can't do something (we are all mature, we all know what is kosher and what is not).

As far as combat, we have not gotten into that yet. If you are familiar with the rules for DC, then I use the honor system as far as foregoing rolls on most things. If you have a power or skill with a level significantly higher than your opponents or obstacle (Prestige using her teleportation on someone with a low RV value, or using your 14 APs of STR to demolish a wall, etc…) I am not going to care about rolls. So long as it is not combat oriented, we are not worried about rolling. We will have to set up a live chat session to resolve combat when it comes. For good examples of this, read the post with Prometheus and Scarlett “fighting” on the dock. Bucky and I never directed any powers directly at the other character, but we did have a nice battle.

So, there it is. As simple as I can make it right now. Don't be shy. We think we are onto something pretty incredible here, and the more who join in, the better.

As we get more to join up, we should keep the posting round-robin style, unless you are looking for direct interaction with another player.

We look forward to seeing more people sign on.

I will also be posting some pretty detailed stuff about Solace City as soon as a new link is up for me to put the information in. Solace has a character as unique as Metropolis or Gotham, and I am looking forward to sharing it with everyone interested. Bucky is very familiar with Solace as well, he can help guide the immigrants around our amazing city.

Perfect, that explains alot of it for me. I will start writing up my character's history and post that with his stats.

We are still looking for others to join in on this.  We just started Issue #2, and it's set to be a darn good time.  No pressure, but feel free to hop in if you want.  Laugh
