I have noticed that a lot of the posts on here have to do with D&D 4th edition. I have no true experiance with 4th edition, but what I want to do here, is to make a bit of a humble proposition. 4th edition is completely contained within a very few number of books, which makes it easy to go through. But for some more experianced players, it also means a lack of versatility. I'm used to playing D&D 3.5 edition. I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 to 60 books all on my computer full to the brim with classes, races, items, and spells. I have the spell compedium, which is a collection of 1000 + spells for all the classes. Create characters of any race you can immagine, of any class you could think of. On top of which, 3.5 edition gives you the tools and balances to create your OWN races, classes, spells, feats, and monsters. What's that you say? You want to play an immortal mountain dwelling hermit, who walks on water, and sometimes even air, and is an expert martial artist? Oh…. yeah…. we have a class for that. It's in the frostburn book. What's that? You want to be a divine caster, but you hate getting caught up in all the religious aspects of it? Well then play an Archivist from the Heroes of Horror book. You say you want to play a reformed Minotaur, that has been shown the error of his ways, found Pelor, and now serves as a mighty cleric? Well with the book Savage Species you can play monsterous races. You want to be a human who was born with wings through some magical experiment, or some strange twist of fate? Add the winged template also found in Savage Species. Your options are nearly endless.
If anyone is interested in maybe playing a game of 3.5 edition, let me know. If you know nothing at all about it, I'd help you build your character to fit your vision, and help guide you through the game mechanics. If no one felt up to it, I'd even DM the game for a while, but I just thought I”d throw it out there and see if anyone's interested. I don't really know, maybe you're all more than familiar with 3.5 edition, maybe you've never played it. But if anyone thinks this sounds like fun, just reply here. I'll be sure to look it over a few times a day.
Good Gaming, Yours,
Josh
