I'm pretty rusty at most gaming, and want to get back into it. Just got into Infinity, and wonder if there are any local players. If not, I'd love any suggestions for a place I could demo the game once I get my starters, terrain and other supplies ready. Also looking for a Dark Heresy game, as I've been sitting on the books for a long while but haven't gotten a chance to play it.

First of all, welcome to us at Wee Bee Gamers, S59. It's good to see more people in the area start coming here. I know I would be interested in trying out some Dark Heresy or Rouge Trader at some time, but I believe that some of us here have trouble getting into modern or sci-fi games. Infinity looks interesting. I know I just don't really want to get into miniature wargaming as my addiction to gaming tends to drain my finances when I start playing. If more of the Wee Bee Gamers are interest in trying DH I say work up a couple session game or a one-shot for us to give it a try.

If God didn’t want us to kill monsters, than he should not have made them out of XP.

I probably won't have the time or focus to run a DH game for a while, but I'm kneedeep in building terrain and painting my minis for Infinity. The investment isn't nearly as bad some wargames, and it's balanced enough where you shouldn't be needing to keep buying new minis. As for me, I want a pretty large force, but it'll probably only cost me $150 all told, spread out over several months (so I will hopefully paint anything I get before getting something new). That's about what most people would spend on a SMALL force for 40K (which I'm also into, but am drawn away from due to the cost). Maybe I'll run some demo games on Infinity when I have it all ready.

At the risk of speaking for most of the Bees, not many of them are into miniature games (most are Roleplayers, Card Gamers, and Board gamers). However that being said, I am in Infinity. I am sitting on about 500+pts of Aradinia that have not seen play in over a year. I also play Malifaux, Warmachine, Anima Tactics and really any skimrish game with cool minis. I am open for games most of the time and I play at the semi local LGS Dragon's Refuge. There is also an unoffical club in Bourbonnias that play out of a very large basement called the Tundra Gaming League.
Are you the guy who bought some of the boxes at the store?

Yes, my bro bought the Nomad starter, then I bought the combined army starter (so I could trade him for the Nomad starter). If there is some regular Infinity going on, I may focus on just painting my minis and letting my terrain building take a backseat for a while. It's my main focus for now, but I do have the Malifaux rulebook and might get into that once I have a good handle on Infinity. I also intend to be hitting Dragon's Refuge alot more once I have most stuff done and some money to spend on more minis and supplies (obviously need more Nomads and might order some stuff for terrain building). Once I've done a test game or two, perhaps we'll have to have a small battle.

There is no real regualr gaming of infinity going on, I know two other people have armies, but they just come up to kibitiz. As far as having stuff done, no one will care if you run a silver surfuer army (I.e. bare metal). The big thing right now is Uncharted Seas, Magic, Anima Tactics and Warmachien now that MK 2 is out.

Well, once I have myself going on it, I hope to get more people into it, or at least back into it. What other armies do people in the area own? How much terrain do you all normally use?

I think the two people with armies have Pan O (huge Otakus). As for terrian, we use to play on this huge urban table, with tons of terrian. You will need a bunch of blocking and hindering terrian for the game else expect to get shot to all hell.
