I am real sorry about how everything went down with the Thunderbolts stuff.  Logan, I really hope I didn't step on your toes.  Anyway, I would like to eventually start running a 4C (MSHA) RPG of some kind.  Please post below what kind of comics/stories/possible plotlines/characters interest you.  If we get enough response, maybe we can go to a second day of gaming using the ideas we generate as a jumping-off point.

One idea I had was to have everyone create “normal” skilled/unskilled characters that would function in a “real-world” setting not unlike the comic Kick-Ass by Mark Millar.

Another idea that is still on the table is the players-as-villains Thunderbolts campaign.  This could use either pre-generated or established characters in a “Ultimate”-style Marvel universe.

Please respond below as to what you would like or if you are interested in the possibility of a second night of gaming featuring super-hero action.

In the meantime, could you delete all of the Thunderbolts stuff, Fozz?  I would hate for anyone to be confused…Foot in mouth

I would like to continue the Thunderbolts campaign.  It sounds like a cool concept.  What do you think? You know the comics and game systems better.

There’s a feat for that…

Yeah man, i still would like to do Thunderbolts… i wanna be a friggin doombot. Only problem is a second night of scheduled gaming each week puts too much strain on me.

What do you suggest as far as a gaming schedule then?  I know Fozz had mentioned at some point that not everyone will always be able to make it to every game…Undecided

Either way, I also wanted to put out on the table that there are other games/game systems we could try.  Mutants and Masterminds, BASH!, Blood of Heroes, Heroes Unlimited, and Hero Force, just to name a few.

I also wanted to let everyone know that this is a chance to really dictate where we go with this.  As much as I have a Thunderbolts series ready, I am curious to hear what kind of ideas/likes/suggestions you as the possible players may have.

I personally want a second night of gaming and your right, maybe everyone won't be able to make it but I'm flexible. Throw out some suggestions.

I will work on recruiting some other players so that we can organize a second scheduled night.

I am still planning on running D&D only every other week as of right now, so that leaves every other Friday free.

As far as what kind of game or system or like or suggestions, i have nothing really to interject at this point, other than i am more apt and interested in worlds that are not the conventional Marvel or DC setting. I gravitate towards darker, more esoteric, less colorful settings.

Having never played any type of Hero game, I will also leave it up to your pick.  I am for anything at this time.

So Marcus, are you going to take the alternating Friday?

Sure, as of right now, I'll work a Hero game every other Friday.  We'll see what the response is, and if it works, maybe we can push that to every week.

As far as suggestions go, lets start with a very simple question:

“Would you rather play established characters or ones of your own creation?”

Let's answer that one first and then work from there.  This will help dictate the system, setting, etc.Smile

I prefer to make up a character of my own. Mainly just because I wouldn't know how to fit it in with the world that character is already a part of. With a character of my own, I feel I would have more freedom with backstory and such.

Either one is cool with me, but i am really terrible with creating original heroes so i would likely use an existing character.

Okay… hmm.  What if we used a system that would allow you as the player to create any character you wish with nothing left to random die rolls?  Would that satisfy everyone involved?

My next question would be setting.

“What is your ideal hero game setting?  Four color standard comic action or dark, fringe-style storytelling?  If you prefer the dark style, what rating are we looking to give the game?  PG-13 or R?”

Alright boys!  You are going to be so proud of me.  I downloaded my first book off of a torrent!

Anyway, it is now official… our group will be starting DC Heroes 3rd Edition/Blood of Heroes on Friday.  I now have in my hot little hands a copy of the DC Heroes 3rd Edition book in PDF format.  If you wish to take a look at the book before our first meeting, please schedule a time when I can drop by or we can meet.  I will have the copy on a flash drive.

I am very excited for Friday… hope you guys are too.  Who all is planning on attending?Smile

I'm excited too!  I love trying new games. I would like to get to gether and take a look at everything.

Do you want me to delete the other campaign forum and create a new one?  Just let me know what you want it to be called.

See you Friday.

Go ahead and delete it and replace it with the title-

“DC Heroes 3rd Edition RPG”

-for now.  I'll have more info as to the specifics later.Sealed

Just wanted to drop all of you a note to ask that you start thinking about what kind of character you would like to play.  As character generation is very open-ended with DC Heroes 3rd Edition and works to the needs of the player, you will most likely be able to create pretty much any kind of character that you can imagine.

Think about what powers, skills, and background will fill out your character.  It would help to have this in mind or written down for Game Night this Friday.  Good luck and have fun!
