Harddrive dead (confirm?)

Fozz,
Need to confirm what I believe is a dead harddrive.
Wanted to ask your opinion.
I turn on the computer, I see the screen that comes up
and says HP and tells you to hit F10 to go to set-up.
Basically the screen before the OS/harddrive is really used.
It then does its search for harddrives and never finds it
(keeps searching.)
Other than a new harddrive do you have any recommendations on a
recovery? Thanks!

Yes it is a possibility that your hard drive is dead, it could also be a loose cable (cross your fingers)
The only option that I know of is to replace the drive, if you have very sensitive or important data you need recovered there are services that can usually pull data off a dead hard drive.
