I am taking up drawing as part of my on-going therapy and was wondering if anyone had any favorite “how to” books that they would recommend. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't really have a book recommendation, but as with anything just keep practicing. The more you do something the better you become, so even if your just doodling or working on a character visualization, you will become better with time.
Check out amazon.com as they usually are a good source or book reviews and showing you which books are bestsellers.
Thanks for the advice, Fozz. It's funny, I love to write, but I notice that it suffers when I don't practice. With the drawing, I want so badly to do it well right from the get-go. It's very hard to spend so much time drawing eyes, noses, ears, and mouths.
“How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way”. It's an older book, but I believe it is still in print and I think I saw one on a sale table at Barnes and Noble Tuesday afternoon. Look right in front of the Information booth.
I've had “How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way” for a while now – and have also been using “Drawing Comics with Dick Giordano”. I was mainly trying to find some other sources besides those. I appreciate the help though. I think I may have to bug my friends over at AF for some advice.
