DESCRIPTION:  Sonjia Sakorsky was born in a village near Tunguska, Siberia in 1908. During her birth, there was a blinding white flash in the sky, followed by a scarlett glow. A tremedous vibration rattled the earth so that the villagers thought the very world was coming apart. Years later, history would know this as the Tunguska Event. Sonjia's mother, Hilda, would live just long enough to see her daughter take her first breath, and then perish from blood loss. Her father, Yuri, was overcome with grief and anger. His daughters hair was a flaming red, and neither he nor his deceased wife had red hair. He was certain that the mongrel who killed his wife was the bastard child of another man. He cast the child off into the snowy night, and left her for dead. Any normal infant could never had survived even an hour in the fridgid Siberian cold, but Sonjia was no average infant. She lay quietly, until some days later, a traveling merchant discovered her, having seen her fierce red hair in contrast to the snow.

The merchant took the child, raised her. It was not out of any sense of altruism that the merhcant spared the child, but out of greed and wickedness. He tolerated her infant years, often leaving her behind with various mistresses he had throughout the countryside. When Sonjia was old enough, he made a servant out of her to help with the hawking of his wares. Audiences were always more likely to buy when an innocent and adorable child was the pitchman. Sonjia made him wealthy, audiences being awestruck by the child's incredible looks. No one could stare into the girl's large green eyes while her mane of scarlett hair dangled around her face and deny her requests to buy this or that.

When Sonjia turned 14, she had already started to fill out into a woman. Were the wicked merchant a younger man, he would have had Sonjia perform… new tasks for him. But too many Siberian winters had taken their toll. Instead, he was offered an incredible sum of money for the girl by a man who owned a traveling circus. The owner of the circus was a younger man, and did have other tasks in mind for young Sonjia. The night he bought Sonjia, he took her into his private quarters, intent on having her whether she cooperated or not. Sonjia did not cooperate, and when the circus owner tried to force her, she discovered within her a power she never knew she had. She was easily stronger than the small, weasely man. She warned him to stop, and hurt him badly when he did not.

Enraged, but ever the business man, the circus owner apologized to Sonjia and convinced her that he would never attempt to harm her again. Being young and scared, and with nowhere else to go, she stayed with the circus. The devious owner spent the next several months manipulating and degrading Sonjia, crushing her self esteem. He knew that, like an adult elephant, she was too strong to control by force. The elephants are trained to believe they are captive when they are young and not strong enough to break the chains that bind them. And so he bound Sonjia, turning her into a freak show attraction.

Sonjia stayed captive to the trecherous circus owner for 6 years. All the while, rage and hate started to build in her. Ever day that passed, she hated the circus owner and the cirucs more. Two things kept her from lashing out in an explosion of rage. The animals, how she loved the animals. And music. She taught herself to play any instrument the owner would allow to her keep. When she took too much joy in an instrument, he would break it. But one day, the hateful circus owner went too far. He begain to lash out at Sonjia's favorite tiger with a whip. The cries of the animal were too much for her to bear. She grabbed ahold of the man and tore him to pieces, scattering his flesh as the wind scatters fallen leaves.

She freed the other animals, as the rest of the circus employees fled in horror when they saw what she did. She burned the tents of the circus to the ground, and walked away from her life as a freak and slave. Though she ages slowly, and has had a century to let go of her past, the rage still burns deep within her. She found work as a keeper at Solace Zoo, where she finds peace and happiness. She finds an outlet for her unquenchable rage in the streets of Solace, where she is known as Scarlett.
