Background:

Amber Andrews was living the life of the all-American teenager when tragedy struck.  Her parents were killed crossing the street by a getaway car being driven by Carlos Chaidez.  He was on the run from the police after one of his original bank heists went belly up.  Amber was traumatized and sent to a psychiatric hospital where she received treatment as well as abuse from Doctor Dancer.  Having read about her hospitalization and knowing the kind of man that Dancer was, Chaidez decided to break Amber out of the facility under his heroic identity of Bloodhound.  Taking her back to his own home, he hypnotized her, tinkering with her memory of her parent’s murder and the events that followed.  He also implanted within her years of training by using several more sessions of intense hypnosis.  Bloodhound now had the final piece of his master plan, an innocent sidekick to garner the favor of the public.  He also gained a faithful adopted daughter and helper.  Amber is not aware that Chaidez killed her family and has no idea that he is also a criminal.  To her, he is just an army buddy of her father’s, taking care of her and giving her the tools to strike back and seek vengeance for her family’s murder.  Using the name Mystery Girl, she prowls the streets every night with her war hammer in hand alongside Bloodhound, intent on making the streets safe for the people of Solace City.
