Background:

Morrison Ellis grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.  From an early age, he learned that you can’t trust anyone other than yourself.  As a youth, he was in and out of trouble with both his school and the law.  When he turned sixteen, he dropped out of school and hit the road with his garage band Nerves of Steel.  Playing all over the United States in every seedy bar and dive they could find, the post-punk band eventually gained a record deal and national exposure.  Overnight, Morrison was catapulted into stardom and dove in headfirst.  He tried very drug and every girl he could get his hands on.  With the release of Nerves’ second album, the public seemed to be over the band and the record label quickly dropped them, looking for the next big thing.  Taking it hard, Morrison decided to take a break from the business and reinvent himself.  Taking the next flight to Solace City, Ellis settled in the Art District and began to tinker with acoustic sound and playing in small clubs.  However, he could not run away from his drug problem.  One night, in a bought of severe depression, feeling like the world was so far away and no one would ever connect with him or love his music again; he attempted to take his own life.  However, he was stopped by a loving voice in his ear-the voice of his fish Bowie.  Bowie explained to him that nature had decided to spare Morrison, to let him in on the secret of all life being connected, to hear the voices and music of the natural world.  Bowie also explained that nature had chosen Morrison to be its voice in this hyper-modern world, and that nature was willing to give him the tools to do this.  It was then that Morrison Ellis was given his fantastic animal abilities and a second lease on life.  Pouring himself into the role, he became not only a well known animal rights activist, but a renewed performer and very public fledgling superhero.  His still doesn't understand everything about his powers or why he was chosen by nature itself, but the responsibilities that he now has keeps the depression at bay, and for that, he is thankful.
